Cheesy Shells & Beef

This dinner came to me as we wanted cheeseburger hamburger helper and we had none. I wasn’t making a special trip to the store.

The original was a box of creamy shells and cheese with one-pound hamburger. Very simple! The new version has a homemade cheese sauce. Because we like extra cheese!

Ingredients :

1 block cheese spread (I used Aldi brand Clancy’s)

2 cups milk

1 pound ground beef

16 ounces (1 package) Shells

Salt & Pepper to taste

2 cups cheddar(this is optional)

Directions:

Cut up cheese block into manageable chunks Set aside)

Fill pot with water and cook pasta according to the box/bag, drain (set aside)

Cook hamburger and season with salt and pepper, drain off excess fat (set aside)

In a pot add 2 cups milk and cheese chunks, heat on medium heat stirring often to melt down cheese. If using cheddar too, add it in after the chunks are melted.

Add hamburger and pasta to the same pot as the cheese mixture, stir well and serve.

I have used the Walmart brand cheese melt as well as Velveeta

You could totally use macaroni or any other pasta

Leave out the hamburger to make some really cheesy shells and cheese
